Details

ZIPTREK ECOTOURS

Ziptrek Ecotours is a spectacular and exhilarating zipline eco-adventure through the forest canopy, situated 450m above Queenstown on Bob's Peak (next to the Skyline Gondola).

Harness up and feel the wind in your face as you glide down breath-taking ziplines which traverse down the mountain tree to tree. Our experienced guides launch and receive you at each tree deck, so you are able to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Gaze at the spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkable mountain range as our guides deliver light-hearted but interesting details on local history, myths, legends and ecological principals at each suspended tree-house.

RESTRICTIONS AND NOTES

Ziptrek Ecotours runs every day of the year, and is stunning whatever the weather. Due to the location of the course, guests are required to wear closed toe footwear and encouraged to bring another layer of clothing. Queenstown is an alpine environment, please come prepared for the conditions. It is slightly colder on Bob's Peak than in Queenstown! Ziptrek has a limited amount of waterproof jackets, hats and gloves for guests in unfavourable weather conditions.

Our minimum age is dependent on the tour. For a Moa or Kea tour, this is 6 years, whereas the Kereru is aged at those 10 or over.

We also have a minimum weight requirement of 30kg (65lbs) to participate in a Ziptrek Ecotour. The only exception to this is for our Moa tour, whereby we may be able to offer tandem ziplining for guests under the weight requirement. This must be pre-booked however, so please contact our Guest Services team to confirm availability.

Our maximum weight limit on all tours is strictly 125 kgs (275 lbs).

Please note that all guests under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Guests between 15 – 17 years of age may participate without a parent, but a parent/guardian must co-sign the Release of Liability form at check-in.

Tours include light stair climbing and trail walking, and therefore guests must be able to walk unassisted. At the time of booking, please inform us of any recent injuries or medical conditons. It is not recommended that people with heart, cardiovascular or respiratory illness take part in our tours. Guests should come equipped with any allergy medications they require. Pregnant women are not permitted on Ziptrek Ecotours.

Smoking, drugs or alcohol are not permitted on course at any time. Ziptrek Ecotours is in no way obligated to complete a tour if one or more participants are found to be endangering themselves, others or the environment. Refunds will not be given to those individuals in these situations.

Cameras are encouraged, providing they fit into a zippered pocket.  Any loose items must be zipped into pockets prior to riding the zipline. For safety reasons, bags, purses and backpacks are not allowed on the tour. Guests should be informed to leave these items behind them, where possible, or they can drop them into our booking office in town at 45 Camp Street, Queenstown.  Whilst we do provide storage for a few items up on course, which can be returned at the end of the Tour, this is limited to the Moa and Kereru tours only.
